"Mrs. Edna May Trent, 82, of 369 Cannell Drive, Somerset, formerly of Stonycreek Township, died Jan. 11, 1976, in Somerset Community Hospital. Born Oct. 22, 1893 in Stonycreek Township, daughter of Samuel and Ida Denner Walker. Preceded in death by parents, husband Orange, daughter Ruth, son Ralph, one sister and one brother. Survived by a son Ellis of Somerset; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. Member of Faith Lutheran Church. Family received friends Monday evening and will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Charles R. Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Charles J. Hartbauer officiating. Interment Mizpah Cemetery."

"William R. Whitacre, 58, Berlin, died Jan. 7, 1998 at home. Born Feb. 15, 1939 in Niverton, son of the late Bursey Charles and Mabel Irene (Peck) Whitacre. Survived by wife of 20 years, the former Ruth Elaine Stuck; daughter, Michele, married to Frank James, Meyersdale; grandchildren, Jason Addair and Connor James. Truck driver for Croner Cartage of Berlin. Vietnam veteran. Member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Berlin, Berlin Volunteer Fire Dept., American Legion and Community Grove Committee. Family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Thursday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Rev. Carl W. Schwarm. Interment, Springs Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Trinity UCC, Berlin, Pa., 15530, or Somerset "In-Touch" Hospice, Somerset, Pa., 15501.
