"Franklin R. Weyand, 85, of Rockwood RD 3, died April 4, 1985, at Meyersdale Community Hospital. Born March 10, 1900, in Jefferson Township, son of the late Allen and Jennie (Hechler) Weyand. Preceded in death by his first wife, Stella, in 1951; his second wife, Melda, in 1984; and a daughter, Rose. Survived by five children: Clark E., and Elmer E., both of Rockwood RD 1; Merle W. of Rockwood RD 3; Mrs. Fern Simpson, Wellington, Ohio; and Mrs. Ken (Ruth) Livengood, Somerset RD 4; also, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; three step-children: Mrs. Lloyd (Ethel) Shaffer, Somerset RD 5; Dwight R. Whipkey of Prospect, Pa.; Harry Whipkey, Jr., Harrisburg; 11 step-grandchildren and nine step-great-grandchildren. Member of Messiah Lutheran Church, New Centerville, where he served as a Sunday school teacher, and member of church council for many years. Member of Milford Grange, 1744, where he was a 7th Degree member. Member of New Centerville Rural and Volunteer Fire Department for 36 years where he served as treasurer for many years. "Dwight Rayman Whipkey, 63, of 132 Minteer Rd., Butler, Pa., formerly of Rockwood, died early Monday morning, April 10, 1995, at the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, which is also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. He was born May 3, 1931, in Barronvale, Somerset County. Son of Harry E. Whipkey and Melda G. (Rayman) Whipkey Weyand. Graduate of Somerset High School. He had been a self-employed insurance agent for 25 years before retiring in 1994. He was a member of the Center Church of the Brethren in Champion and a member of the Blazing Star Coachman Club, Chapter 28. He served three years in Company C, 110th Infantry Division, U.S. Army, where he attained the rank of sergeant. He also served in the 28th Infantry, Pennsylvania National Guard. Surviving are his wife Martha E. (Pritts) Whipkey, whom he married July 11, 1954; three sons: Kenneth W. Whipkey of Prospect, Keith E. Whipkey of Prospect and Kevin T. Whipkey, at home; a daughter, Kelly L. Whipkey, at home; a sister, Mrs. Lloyd (Ethel) Shaffer of Somerset; a brother, Harry E. Whipkey of Harrisburg; and three grandchildren. Preceded in death by a granddaughter. Friends will be received at the Jay Bryan Funeral Home in Prospect from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday. Viewing also from 1 p.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Center Church of the Brethren, Champion, the Rev. Jay Shaffer officiating. Burial will be in the Barron Cemetery, Rockwood."

She was born Feb. 11, 1880, in Berlin and was a daughter of the late Daniel H. and Mary (Knepper) Walker. She was preceded in death by her husband, George S., in 1945; a daughter; four sisters; and five brothers. She is survived by four children: Glenn W. Rieman of Bridgewater, Virginia ; T. Wayne of North Manchester, Ind.; Dwight W. of Columbia, Mo.; and Mrs. Elaine Holsinger of Somerset; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two sisters: Mrs. April May Beeghley of Blossburg, Pa.; and Mrs. Alma Rymer of Orlando, Fla. She was a member of Manchester Church of Brethren. Friends were received at Bender Funeral Home, North Manchester. "Nevin S. Weigle, 92, of Friedens RD 2, died May 23, 1996, at Patriot Manor. Born July 21, 1903, in Stonycreek Township, son of Harvey and Clara (Suder) Weigle. Preceded in death by his parents; his wife, the former Eva M. Fritz; sisters, Myrtle Fritz and Ethel Onstead; brothers, Melvin, William, Ernest and Glenn Weigle. Survived by sister, Mrs. Edward (Pauline) Baumgardner of Friedens, and brothers, Harry, married to the former Hazel Emeigh, Berlin RD 1, and Ray, married to the former Helen Smith, Friedens RD 2; also numerous nieces and nephews. He was retired from PBS Coals. Member of Faith Lutheran Church, UMWA, and Somerset Lodge, FOE. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Viewing from 1 p.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. Sunday at Faith Lutheran Church, Rev. Lynn M. Sanner officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
