"Maust, -- Emma, daughter of Joseph and Lydia (Hochstetler) Maust, was born Jan. 9, 1897, at Meyersdale, Pa.; passed away June 3, 1952; aged 55 y. 4 m. 24 d. She moved with her parents to Bay Port, Mich., at the age of 8, and lived in this community the remainder of her life. She cared for her parents till their passing, after which she made her home with her brother, Earl. She accepted Christ in her youth and united with the C. A. Mennonite Church, remaining faithful to a victorious end. She lived a life of devotion to her Lord, and delighted to serve her fellow men in her God-given capacity. Surviving are 6 brothers (Henry and Sherman, California; Joseph, Pigeon, Mich.; Earl, Edward, Richard, Bay Port, Mich.), 3 sisters (Mary-Mrs. Dan Swartzendruber, Bay Port, Mich.; Anna-Mrs. Edwin Albrecht, Grabill, Ind.; and Barbara-Mrs. Henry Esch, Phoenix, Ariz.), and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were in charge of Raymond Byler and Emanuel Swartzendruber. Burial was made in the adjoining cemetery."

"Maust. - Bro. Elmer E. Maust, son of S. L. and Savilla Maust, died at his home near Springs, Pa., Sept. 14, 1909; aged 23 y. 2 m. 1 d. For a number of years he had been afflicted with valvular heart trouble caused by an attack of rheumatism. For the last year he gradually grew worse until the doctors decided he must be continually in a reclining position which, it was hoped, might be a means of saving his life. He had been in bed about 6 weeks and was apparently improving when he had a slight stroke of apoplexy and from that time grew very much worse until death relieved him a week or so later. He was a patient sufferer enduring much pain toward the last without any complaint. During the time he was confined to his bed he was always cheerful and said several times during the last year of his life that he did not worry about his condition because he was resigned to the Lord's will and was ready to go. He was a faithful member of the Mennonite Church and always filled his place in church and Sunday school as long as health would permit. He leaves to mourn their loss a sorrowing father, mother, one sister and four brothers besides a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at Springs church conducted by Ed Miller, assisted by G. D. Miller and H. M. Gelnett. A large congregation assembled to pay the last tribute of respect to one who was loved by all and was quite a favorite among his associates. May we do live that we may meet him in that home where all sorrow and pain are o'er."

"Maust.-Bro. Edward B. Maust was born June 13, 1881; died Dec. 1, 1921; aged 40 y. 5 m. 18 d. Bro. Maust had been suffering with acute pain, the cause of which was unknown. He was taken to a Cumberland, Md., Hospital on the morning of Nov. 30 and unexpectedly passed away the following night. His death came as a shock to the family and to the community-one morning the responsibilities of life resting upon him, the next morning in the eternal world. He was the second son of Bro. and Sister Simon L. Maust; baptized as a member of the Mennonite Church, Oct. 9, 1897; united in marriage to Mabel Denison Apr. 2, 1902. He was the father of 1 son and 3 daughters, the son having preceded him to eternity. The daughters and wife together with father and mother, 3 brothers and 1 sister, are those of his immediate family who mourn his sudden departure. May they flee for refuge to Him who doeth all things well. Funeral Dec. 5 at the Springs Mennonite Church conducted by Bros. G. D. and N. E. Miller. Text-"It is soon cut off and we fly away.""

"Maust, Asa N., son of Noah J. and Annie (Yoder) Maust, was born April 6, 1900, near Meyersdale, Pa.; died June 11, 1960, 15 days after he was involved in a highway accident near Accident, Md.; aged 60 y. 2 m. 5 d. On March, 12, 1931, he was married to Wilma Yoder, who was instantly killed on May 27, 1960, in the highway accident that took the life of her husband 15 days later. Surviving are 5 sons (Walter, Willis, Alva, Markle, and Harold), one brother (Harvey), and 5 sisters (Savilla--Mrs. Milton Bender, Arminta--Mrs. Edwin Beitzel, Nannie, Vernie--Mrs. Raymond Beitzel, and Edna--Mrs. Roy Beitzel). He was a member of the Casselman River C.M. congregation. Funeral services were held June 14 at the Maple Glen Church, near Grantsville, Md., in charge of Ivan J. Miller, Paul H. Yoder, and Elmer H. Maust."

"Miller.--Nora Elizabeth Miller was born April 22, 1885; died Dec. 30, 1924; aged 39 y. 8 m. 8 d. She is survived by her husband John D. Miller, two daughters, one son, her father and mother D. W. and Annie Maust, five brothers and four sisters. She was the second of twelve children. She had been ailing for some time, but the family and neighbors had good hopes that she would soon be well when a sudden change took place. She was hurried to the hospital and the doctors did all they could but could not help her. She suffered great pain, and in her agony looked at her husband and asked, "Is no one praying for me?" He said there was. Yet with all the pain she was concerned about her children. Funeral at the Springs Mennonite Church to which she united when she was young. Serviced conducted by G. D. Miller, assisted by Ed. Miller and L. P. Young. Text, II Cor. 1:3, 4."
